GETTING THIS ONE IS A MUST

Hey, Melaine here. As CEO of this company, it is my esteemed honour to introduce you to our latest invention ... THE IPAD 2. As a woman of perfection, we here at Apple wanted to ensure that we gave our customers the best there is to offer. The iPad 2 is the most innovative we can get right now. Sleek and light, this piece of equipment is guaranteed to please any human being, whether you be a business person, a street vendor, a student or just our everyday tech junkie who just so happens to collect such items.

Regardless of who you are, the iPad 2 is much more innovative.

What do I mean by innovative you might ask?

Well for one, the iPad 2 is muccccch faster. And it is also thinner and lighter than its predecessor.

It now has cameras on both the front and rear. Who wouldn’t dig this?

I won’t even stop there. The iPad 2 is also loaded with many apps like the previous, but there are some new additions. These include two of our iLife apps: GarageBand and iMovie, costing $4.99 a piece.

Garageband is a carbon copy of the popular music-making program from the Mac and it even more capable of what the desktop app could do. The iPad 2 now becomes a musical instrument and Garageband allows you to layer tracks together to produce songs. For the musically-challenged, there are ‘smart instruments’, which are designed to sound good together. Even more interesting, is the use of the accelerometer to determine, with surprising precision, how hard you’re pressing the keys on your keyboard or banging your drum.

Then there’s the iMovie app, which uses the extra screen real estate of the iPad to offer a well-equipped video editor. It’s designed for the touchscreen and the controls are very simple but there’s some very powerful options for those who know what they’re doing. While not for everyone, We here at Apple Inc. can see both these apps becoming essentials for a lot of people.

Regardless of the fact that the iPad 2 can hold thousands of apps (65,000 to be exact); the great joy in this is that these apps will run faster too, thanks to the A5 dual core processor. The new iPad runs up to twice as fast and graphics performance is nine-times faster. Some of these applications include Safari, Mail, Photos, Video, YouTube, iPod, iTunes, App Store, iBooks, Maps, Notes, Calendar, Contacts, Camera, Photo Booth, and Spotlight Search; several of which are improved versions of applications developed for the iPhone, or of applications for the Mac.

There are several other additions. There’s the HDMI-out accessory that allows you to mirror your iPad’s screen on your television, for example, and the addition of a gyroscope that allows the iPad 2 to match the iPhone 4’s gaming capabilities.

Now about the iPad cover. Many of you were complaining about the original cover and we listened. We NOW introduce the iPad 2 SmartCover. Hooking magnetically onto the side of the iPad 2, it covers the screen and closes with a reassuring click - magnets again - putting the device to sleep as it does so. Peel it back and the device wakes up. Meanwhile, the cover folds underneath to create a stand. Throughout it all, the beauty of the iPad design remains visible. The Smart Cover costs £35 in polyurethane and £59 in leather but I guarantee the iPad 2 doesn’t feel complete without one.

Finally, there is a white version now available. At £399 for the basic model - 16GB and wifi-only - it’s hard to resist, though those with a bit more to spend should consider the 32GB model with WIFI and 3G (£579). The extra storage is worth it and cheap 3G plans mean you have the option of using the iPad when WIFI is unavailable. Those who travel a lot will want a 64GB model so that they can carry a selection of films.

After all of that – Why wouldn’t you wanna buy the iPad 2? Spend a little, you deserve it.
